Weekend in Ghent with children

When you are on holiday in Ghent with children, make sure you visit Castle Gravensteen. This castle in the middle of the city dates from the 10th century. From the castle you can look out over the entire city. If you like castles, it is also nice to visit the medieval castle Ooidonk. The castle is located just outside Deinze, has a moat and is impressive to see. In the summer you can also regularly go inside, for example to do a tour with a guide.

During your weekend in Ghent you can also visit the city of Deinze. You can easily and quickly – within 10 minutes – take the train from Ghent to Deinze. Discover the nature reserve between Ghent and Deinze, where the Lys meanders between the greenery. At Boot.be you can rent a fully electrically powered sloop for 5 people. The sailing speed is barely 7 kilometers per hour, so that the peace and quiet in the area is not disturbed.
