All Dutch trains run on wind power, so you travel CO2-neutral. This is also the case for more and more buses. <\/span>The tram, metro and bus also emit a lot less CO2 per kilometer than the non-electric car, when you travel alone<\/span><\/a>. If you are in a car with several people, the picture will of course change because the same emissions are divided among more people. Moreover, it can also be more pleasant for local residents when train traffic increases.   1. If you haven’t decided yet which country or place you want to go on holiday: start looking up the best European train connections. This way you can see which places you can easily travel to by train. View for example <\/span>this interrail map<\/span><\/a> .<\/span> <\/li>
  2. See where night trains run. On these routes you have a relatively fast travel time that also takes place at night, so that you cover the distance while you sleep! Maybe there’s a destination you’ve always wanted to go to! <\/span><\/li>
  3. Once you’ve picked a destination for your train vacation, it’s time to start looking at tickets. In general, the earlier you book, the lower the prices. So try to book the tickets for your train holiday right away! <\/span><\/li>
  4. When buying the train tickets, make sure that you allow enough transfer time when you have to change carriers. At a longer distance it can happen that you arrive later at the station where you have to change. If you subsequently miss the transfer, this will not always be reimbursed when you continue the journey with another carrier. <\/span><\/li>
  5. Relaxed on a train holiday? Then make sure you reserve a seat. This prevents you from having to move with your things when someone gets in who has reserved a place where you turn out to be exactly. <\/span><\/li><\/ol>
