At its core, sustainability is about living in a way that meets the necessities of life for the current generation, without compromising those of future generations. So while sustainability is also about social and societal issues, we often talk about the climate when we talk about more sustainable living and sustainable tourism. These contribute to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to the use of regular fossil fuels. \n\n

The production of dairy and meat, for example, is associated with high water consumption. A lot of methane gas is also released in livestock farms. As a greenhouse gas, methane is even about 30 to 70 times more harmful than CO2!<\/a>
