What do I need for this skate route?

Of course, you need a good pair of skates. They have to be the right size and comfortable, because you are going to make a big trip with them. If you are still planning to do things during the skating route, it may also be useful to bring normal shoes so that you can change them. Furthermore, we advise you to have suitable clothes, both comfortable clothing and something against the rain (because yes, in the Netherlands there can sometimes be a shower …). Having a backpack is handy, then you always have water with you and you can take something to snack on with you.

For beginners, a first aid kit is recommended. Sometimes you go a bit harder than intended and an accident is then in a small corner. If you do not often skate long distances, blister plasters are also a must! For your safety, wearing good protection is important. Therefore, make sure you have a good inline helmet and a protective set for wrists, elbows and knees.

Oké, we hebben de fiets, de uitrusting en het gereedschap. Wat nu? Nou, een of meerdere verblijven om te overnachten en natuurlijk de reisroute. Sommigen nemen liever hun tent mee op de fiets om midden in het bos te kunnen slapen, anderen kiezen voor het comfort van een verblijf. Als je op avontuur gaat met jouw fiets voor bikepacking in Nederland, dan is het verstandig om vooraf je overnachting in accommodaties te boeken. Zo geniet je na zo’n sportieve dag van het comfort van een bed en de weldaad van een douche. 

Wij hebben een bikepacking tour bedacht door de mooiste plekken van Nederland. Een echte bikepacking tour voor fietsliefhebbers met een goed niveau – of beginners met een flinke portie wilskracht – die van avontuur, natuur en sport houden. 

De 408 kilometer lange fietstocht kan je op elk van de zeven plekken beginnen. Een leuke voorbeeldroute: 

1. Begin je fietstour in het Utrechtse dorpje Tienhoven. Ga met de fiets vanaf jouw startpunt naar dit vakantiehuis in het Groene Hart. De eerste dag kun je rustig beginnen, door de omgeving te verkennen. Het Groene Hart is namelijk een prachtige omgeving om te fietsen. ‘s Avonds slaap je weer in dit huis, om de volgende dag verder te trekken. 
2. De volgende dag is een rustige dag in de bikepacking tour met maar 27 km fietsen naar Weesp. Daar kun je namelijk in een floating lodge aan de Vecht overnachten. Beleef een echt nachtje back to basic, midden in de natuur en word uitgerust wakker tussen de vogelgeluiden voordat je weer op je fiets stapt. 
3. De volgende fietsroute is namelijk 125 km lang, dus dan ben je wel de hele dag op stap. Je fietst deze dag namelijk helemaal naar Koudum in Friesland. Daar kun je heerlijk tot rust komen en overnachten in Koudum in een tiny house midden tussen de bloemen weilanden. Na de lange fietstocht is de volgende dag een rustdag. Ontdek de omgeving en geniet van het luxe tiny house.
4. Na de tweede nacht in Koudum fiets je nog verder naar het noorden van het land: naar Dokkum. Daar hebben we voor jou een heel leuk tiny house aan het water waar je kunt overnachten vlakbij Dokkum. 
5. Na een heerlijke nacht ga je weer op stap naar het volgende verblijf in Blesdijke. Dat is ongeveer 90 km fietsen. Je kunt in een moderne eco lodge midden in de natuur slapen. Breng een bezoekje aan de Biesbosch, dat vlakbij ligt!  
6. Voor de laatste fietsdag van deze bikepacking tour fiets je weer richting het zuiden, helemaal naar Bunschoten. 135 km lang is de fietsroute. Heb jij altijd al willen overnachten in een pipowagen? Dan is nu jouw kans om een unieke ervaring te beleven, omdat je op de boerderij middenin de natuur knus kunt slapen.

Hoe kan ik beginnen met bikepacken?

Dus als naar Colmar gaat, aarzel dan niet om naar de nabijgelegen stadjes te gaan zoals de prachtige vestingstad Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé of Kaysersberg.
