About this accommodation

Have you always wanted to spend the night in a gypsy wagon? In Bunschoten you have the chance to experience this! These gypsy caravans are located in the middle of a small rural community in the green.

A unique night in the gypsy wagon

You sleep in a cozy wooden house in the middle of nature. This gypsy wagon offers room for four people: with a double bed and two hanging beds above it. There is also a cozy sitting area and a table for endless games or puzzles. The gypsy wagon is small but nice and contains only the basic necessities such as an electric heater, so you don’t have to be cold.

You look out over the vegetable garden and there is plenty of greenery around the gypsy wagon, just like on the rest of the site. Enjoy the sun with a beautiful view, or go for the shade: you have the freedom to choose a nice spot!

About the farm

If you have to describe the farm in one word it might be: lively. You will always meet someone on the farm and there is plenty to discover in the Tasting Room. You will find a store corner with products from the region, you can order a delicious cup of coffee or sit down to read a book.

Everything on the farm is organic: from the vegetable garden, the cleaning products, and the ingredients in the Tasting Room to the care products in the relaxation center. In addition, there is a regional focus and as much as possible is bought and worked with locally. To prevent waste, only what has been ordered is harvested in the vegetable garden: a great sustainable choice! A small number of beef cows live on the farm, which are kept with the vision: eat little meat, but good meat. The place feels like a small village because of the different things that happen in the yard. Cosy, friendly and with sincere attention to people, animals and nature.

You can read all about the origins of the Eemlandhoeve in the personal travel guide you will receive during your ecological vacation!

Are you going on an ecological vacation for two? There are three more possibilities to spend the night in the Eemlandhoeve: this spacious gypsy wagon, this cozy gypsy wagon or this cozy gypsy wagon, all for two people!

What makes this accommodation sustainable

Green energy

On the roofs of many buildings on the farm there are solar panels, which provide a lot of green power. This choice to generate power in a circular way was made deliberately to limit the impact on nature.

Local products and partnerships

Local and regional are of paramount importance. In addition to our own vegetable garden, as much as possible is purchased locally for the tasting room, for example, to avoid the impact of transportation and storage. The gypsy wagon is even built on location!

Plant-based food

Living and working organically is important at this place. The food is prepared with organic ingredients. They encourage you to eat little, but good meat, which is provided on the farm. This reduces the impact of animal products.

Recycling and the reuse of materials

To reuse waste materials, there is a compost pile and the residual wood is used to generate heat.

The details

  • Discover the whole garden

In addition to the small-scale organic farm, near your stay you will find an extensive vegetable garden, relaxation center and residential community for demented elderly. Walk to the tasting room mid-morning and join us for a cozy coffee break, or follow the walking tour that leads you past the best spots on the property. Discover the bee hotel, the treasure hunt for children or the herb garden. The Huijgen family invites you to go out and about yourself and lets you feel free to do so. Spending the night in the gypsy wagon and also helping out on the farm? That too is possible! You can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life by joining in the rhythm of the farm.

  • In the area

The gypsy caravans are located in Bunschoten-Spakenburg. Discover the historic center of Spakenburg or rent an e-bike and cycle through the green surroundings. For example, land at the Eemmeer where you will find a beach and can also sail. Or visit Amersfoort, with its characteristic Koppelpoort and cozy center. In short: plenty to do in the area!

  • Practical & extras

Feel like having a delicious breakfast in front of your gypsy wagon when you wake up? That too is usually one of the possibilities. Just ask Lotte when you arrive and she will take care of it.

When the commotion on the friendly farm has subsided a bit, you can make a campfire in the evening. Order a wheelbarrow of wood and enjoy the crackling fire for that ultimate vacation feeling.

You can check in on the day of arrival between 15:00 and 18:00. Arriving later? No problem at all! Just let us know and we will take it into account! On the day of departure you can check out until 11:00.

When you book a night on Sunday, please keep in mind that it is quiet on the farm. Most activities will have stopped for a while and the tasting room will be closed. However, you are just as welcome as on other days and can enjoy the peace and quiet!

Pets are not allowed when staying overnight in a gypsy wagon.
