For the less fanatical athletes, there is the possibility to take a trip to the Marina where you can look at beautiful boats and have a quiet drink by the water.

Terschelling

There is also room to do something active while staying overnight on Terschelling. The second largest Wadden Island offers the possibility to go rafting at sea. Would you rather relax? Look for Peit’s Hoeve in the village of Lies. Here you can watch how cheese is made, and you can see the special farm. After looking around you can also taste the cheese yourself!

Ameland

While visiting Ameland it is nice to go on a Robbentocht. There is a tidal inlet between Ameland and Terschelling, where large groups of seals can often be found. It is not for nothing that the sandbank is called Robben Island. Did you know that the seal can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h while hunting?

Another nice trip to spend the night on the Wadden Islands is the lighthouse of Hollum. The lighthouse, which dates from 1881, is no longer in use. The coast is now monitored with cameras. However, visiting the lighthouse is now open to the public.
